Itinerary

  • Day 00/01 - Singapore / Santiago
    Fly Singapore/Sydney QF 082 2120/0825+1 – Daily (8h 5m)
      Sydney/Santiago QF 027 1250+1/1110+1 – Except Mon, Thu (12h 20m)

     

    Upon arrival, meet your guide and kick start your tour around the city of Santiago. Start from Plaza de Armas where you will find the colonial buildings around. Continue along Alameda avenue to the San Francisco Church and La Moneda

    Then we’ll head to Cerro San Cristobal, where Santiago was founded in 1541. En-route, take a peek into Chilean history as you pass the Cousiño Palace and many more heritage buildings.

  • Day 02 - Santiago

    Today, take a leisurely drive through rolling countryside and vineyards to Valpraiso and Vina de Mar. Experience the colour and culture of two Chilean coastal towns. Stop along the way for some wine tasting before enjoying a fine dining experience at one of the many boutique wineries that are part of this flourishing region.

  • Day 03 - Santiago / Punta Arenas

    Early morning, transfer to airport for your flight to Punta Arenas.

    Fly Santiago / Punta Arenas LA 281 0530/0857 – Daily (3h 27m)

     

    *For Antarctica XXI guests, you will need to arrive Punta Arenas airport by 2pm, otherwise you may miss the briefing session.

    Arrival at the city of Punta Arenas where you will be met by the expedition staff, to be transferred to Cabo de Hornos Hotel.

    Meet your expedition mates in the afternoon and enjoy a welcome dinner with local gastronomy as you meet fellow adventurers from around the world

  • Day 04 - Punta Arenas / King George Island – Embarkation

    A quick 2-hour flight from Punta Arenas lands on King George Island in the South Shetland Islands. En route, from your bird's eye view, bid the Drake Passage a fond Bon Voyage. You've saved time and worry, by choosing this Fly and Cruise expedition operated by Antarctica XXI.

    After exploring that portion of the island where the Chilean Research Base, Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva and the Russian Base, Bellingshausen, are located, you transfer to your cruise by Zodiac to embark on your Antarctic adventure.

  • Day 05-08 - Antarctica Peninsula & South Shetland Islands

    Day 5-11 for Aurora Expedition guests.

    Don't forget to pack your binoculars. In the Peninsula, seals will be sunning on ice floes or a raft of penguins may be feeding as you sail past. Participate in a shipboard presentation and the Expedition Team could take you ashore at Neko Harbour and help you identify different species of birds. You could cruise through a graveyard of fantastically colored icebergs.

    Optional Activities (limited seats - please book early)
    - Sea Kayaking in Antarctica
    - Hiking and Snowshoeing (for Antarctica XXI only)
    - Scuba Diving or Polar Snorkelling (for Aurora Expeditions only)

    Polar Circle Air-Cruise Add-On
    Two additional days in the Antarctica will allow time to sail far south in the attempt of reaching the Polar Circle. Departure dates vary from Classic Antarctica routing. Available only on Ocean Nova during 2018/2019 season.

  • Day 9 - King George Island – Disembarkation / Punta Arenas

    Day 12 for Aurora Expedition guests.

    From King George Island, you will fly across the Drake Passage to Punta Arenas to spend the night. You will be transferred from the airport to your hotel to spend the night.

    Overnight: Cabo de Hornos Hotel Punta Arenas or similar
    Meals: Breakfast

  • Day 10 - Punta Arenas / Singapore

    Day 13 for Aurora Expedition guests.

    After lunch, drive to airport for your flight back home.

    Arrive in Singapore on Day 12 (for Antarctica XXI guests) or day 15 (for Aurora Expedition guests).
