Itinerary

  • Day 00/01 - Singapore / Dushanbe
    Fly Singapore/Dubai SQ944 1510/1825 (7h 15m) - Daily
      Dubai/Dushanbe FZ777 2235/0255+1 (3hr 20min) - Except Tue, Fri, Sun

     

    Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

    Today, embark on a city tour of Dushanbe, covering highlights such as the Monument of Ismoili Somoni (founder of Tajik Centralized state of Samanids in the 10th century), Rudaki Park dedicated to the great Persian poet who lived during the 9th century AD, White House presidential palace, National Museum of Antiquities of Tajikistan (closed on Mondays) which include the 1,600-year-old statue of Buddha in Nirvana.

    You will also visit Hissar Fortress which was once the residence of the Emir of Bukhara’s deputy, Navruz Palace which design involved hundreds of artisans from all over the country and the Botanical Garden.

  • Day 02 - Dushanbe / Penjikent

    This morning, enjoy a scenic drive along the picturesque Varzob river and gorge, passing through the Anzob mountain pass, Fann river and Zerafshan river (approximately 7 hours with photo and lunch stops).

    Arrive in the ancient city of Penjikent, where you will visit the local museum and learn more about the Sarazm settlement (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

  • Day 03 - Penjikent / Seven Lakes / Penjikent

    Today, you will be driven for an excursion to the Seven Lakes region.

    Set at the foot of mountains surrounded by woods, uncover a string of seven lakes cascading down the Shing valley, with iridescent water ranging in colors from gentle green to deep lilac.

    (For avid adventurers, we can replace your overnight in Penjikent with a guesthouse in Nofin. From Nofin, you will be driven to 6th lake Marguzor where you will begin your hike to 7th lake Hazorchashma. Trekking Distance: 2hrs / 2.5km per way.)

  • Day 04 - Penjikent / Artuch Alp

    This morning, drive approximately 3 hours along Zarafshan river to the Artuch Alp camp, from where you will start your trek the next day.

    Make a visit to Mausoleum of Rudaki dedicated to the famous poet who was born in the village of Panjrud. If you would like, you can also trek to the Chukurak Lake (Altitude: 2,200m > 2,450m; Trekking Distance: 2hrs / 1km per way).

  • Day 05 - Artuch Alp / Kulikalon or Bibi Janat

    After breakfast, load your luggage to donkeys to begin the active part of your trekking adventure.

    A well-trodden trail takes us up the Urjam River valley through mixed juniper and deciduous groves covering two giant scree dams steeply rising up the right hand side of the tight gorge. The dams serve as a natural filter for water running into the stream. The track levels out and once we top the upper dam, the turquoise necklace of Kulikalon Lakes frame the jagged summits of the Pamir Fann Mountains including Maria (4,970m), Mirali (5,120m), Rudaki (4,900m) and Adamtash (4,700m) which are known as the “Kulikalon Wall”.

    Camp by the shores of Kulikalon or Bibi Janat lake. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset over the rugged Fann Mountains.

  • Day 06 - Kulikalon or Bibi Janat

    As your body adjusts to higher altitude, take it easy for the day to enjoy the beautiful nature of Kulikalon area.

    Enjoy a short hike on surrounding areas of Dushoha Lake, Bibi Janat Lake or Kulikalon Lake. In the evening, enjoy some musical performances by your guide and donkey handlers.

    Altitude: 2,800m (minimum elevation change)
    Trekking Distance: 3hrs / 9km

  • Day 07 - Kulikalon or Bibi Janat / Alauddin Pass / Alauddin Lake

    Start your morning with ascend out of the juniper forest and alpine meadows to the Alauddin Pass, where the entire Kulikalon lakes system can be seen. The snow-capped summits of Chapdara (5,050m), Bodhona (5,138m) and Zamok (5,070m) can be admired from here.

    After picnic lunch, descend to camp by the shores of Alauddin Lake.

    Altitude: 2,800m > 3,860m > 2,770m
    Trekking Distance: 6hrs / 10km

  • Day 08 - Alauddin Lake / Istaravshan / Khujand

    Drive up to the north through Shahristan mountain pass to enjoy the famous local delicacy of smoked lamb.

    En route to Istravshan which was founded by Cyrus the Great in the 6th century BC to visit Mug Teppa fortress and Hazrati Shoh mosque. Famous for its artisans, you can also make a visit to blacksmith and wood-carving workshops.

    Continue to Khujand, capital of the Sughd province and one of the oldest cities in Central Asia dating more than 2,500 years. Today’s total driving time is approximately 5 hours.

  • Day 09 - Khujand / Iskanderkul

    This morning, enjoy a city tour of Khujand.

    Visit the Registan Square, Maslihaddin Mosque and Panjshanbe Bazaar, which is one of the largest markets of Central Asia. Continue to Arbob Palace and Historical Museum of Khujand.

    Drive approximately 4 hours to Iskanderkul Lake with its distinctive Alexander’s Hat, where you will spend the night.

    Altitude: 300m > 2,195m

    Overnight: Khujand
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 10 - Iskanderkul / Dushanbe

    This morning, trek around the reed-covered Snake Lake and the magnificent Iskanderkul Waterfall hidden within a rocky gorge.

    In the afternoon, you will be driven approximately 3.5 hours back to Dushanbe.

    Altitude: 2,195m > 900m
    Trekking Distance: 2hrs / 5km

    Overnight: Dushanbe
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Day 11 - Dushanbe / Singapore

    Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
