• 12 Days Karakorum Silk Route Into Kashgar

    The trip starts in the perpetual bazaar city of Rawalpindi, where the Karakorum Highway begins. Hunza, the centrepiece for pristine natural beauty in the area will serve as a base for day hikes into the mountains. Then, we cross Khunjerab Pass, world’s highest road into China to arrive in Kashgar, one of the most exotic Asian townships.

  • Day 01 - Singapore / Islamabad
    Fly Singapore / Bangkok TG 414 1545 / 1705 - Daily
      Bangkok / Islamabad TG 509 1850/2200 – Mon/Wed/Fri

    Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel.

  • Day 02 - Islamabad / Besham

    Visit the Shah Faisal Mosque, the biggest in the country. A 30min drive brings us to Taxila, an UNESCO world heritage site and the most important site of the Ghandara cultures some 2000 years ago. Visit the museum with a rich collection of artifacts and statues of Buddha dating back to pre-Christian era.

    After lunch, drive up terraced valleys and make a brief stop to visit the vibrant bazaar at Shinkiari. Take a 4 hours drive to Besham.

  • Day 03 - Besham / Gilgit

    Continue along the Indus River and the landscape changed dramatically as we entered the high altitude desert at Kohistan to Chilas where we visit a local bazaar.

    Continue along the Indus River and arrive at Gilgit, the capital of the mountain province, which offers excellent views of Nanga Parbat (8125m), the world’s ninth highest peak. A long day of about 9 hours on the road.

  • Day 04 - Gilgit / Duikar

    The 4 hour drive is probably the loveliest along Hunza River, passing by picturesque quaint villages with apricot, mulberry, apple and peach orchards and tiers of poplar trees.

    Stop at Old Ganesh – one of the Central Hunza’s best kept secrets. The ancient heart of this old settlement has been restored and won an ‘Award of Distinction’ by UNESCO.

    Continue to Duikar, surrounded by an amphitheatre of the Himalayan peaks and offers unrivalled sunrise and sunset views of Rakaposhi and Spantik across the river in Nagar.

  • Day 05 - Duikar / Hunza

    Wake up early for a spectacular sunrise before a leisurely breakfast beneath the mountain peaks.

    Embark on a 2-hours hike from Duikar to Hunza, the centerpiece for pristine natural beauty along the Karakorum and Silk Route. En route, visit the smaller and charming village of Altit and be warmed by the hospitality of the locals.

  • Day 06 - Hunza / Gulmit

    Spend the morning strolling along the water and visit the 800-year old Baltit Fort that was the old palace of the mirs of Hunza.

    Then drive about 2 hours to arrive at Gulmit, a quaint village along Hunza River and nestled amidst spectacular mountains. This afternoon, enjoy tea with a local family. Thereafter, have a hand on the “ropeway” across River Indus.

  • Day 07 - Gulmit / Khunjerab Pass / Tashkurghan

    Expect one of the most spectacular journeys on an excursion to Khunjerab Pass. The road goes through the awesome jagged mountains of Upper Hunza climbing up to 4746m. This is the world's highest road and it marks the border of Pakistan to China.

    Spend the night in the Chinese border town of Tashkurghan on the Pamir Plateau.

  • Day 08 - Tashkurghan / Kashgar

    Drive about 6 hours along the last stretch of the Karakorum Highway today. The scenery is stunningly different from the Pakistan side. High altitude pastures stretches into the horizon and in a distance, you can catch glimpses of the Taklamakan Desert.

    Stop at Karakul Lake, a high altitude lake at 3500m flanked by giant snow capped mountain. Arrive in Kasghar.

  • Day 09 - Kashgar

    Kashgar – the name itself evoke all the romantic images of the Silk Road. Old Kashgar is still filled with narrow alleys and ancient buildings while roadside artisan and donkey carts are still typical scenes.

    Catch the Sunday market, one of the most fascinating sights in Asia. With 100 000 people, thousands of donkeys, sheep and camels, people shouting as they trade all items imaginable, it’s indeed a mind boggling experience.

  • Day 10 - Kashgar

    Visit Abakh Hoja Tomb, the city mosque and pay a visit to a local family. Have time in the afternoon at leisure to soak in the mood of this unique town.

  • Day 11 - Kashgar / Urumqi

    Have a leisure morning before transferring to the airport for the short flight to Urumqi.

    Fly Kashgar / Urumqi CZ 6804 1035 / 1215 – Daily

    Upon arrival in Urumqi, transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, visit the Urumqi Museum which houses many excellent relics including mummies. The rest of the afternoon is free at leisure to do last minute shopping at Grand Bazaar.

  • Day 12 - Urumqi / Chengdu / Singapore

    Transfer to the airport for your onward flight back to Singapore.
