Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Singapore/ Memanbetsu/ Abashiri/ Shiretoko
    Fly Singapore/ Haneda SQ 636 2240/0615+1- Daily (6h 35m)
      Haneda/ Memanbetsu NH 4777 1115/1300- Daily (1h 45m)

    Upon arrival, be met and drive to the Northern Hemisphere’s Southernmost region, Abashiri.

    Take a walk around Abashiri city, visit Okhotsuku Ryuhyo Museum or Prison Museum.

    Take a leisurely stroll through the great outdoors on a horseback ride, crossing shallow water whilst enjoying the beautiful view of Ocean in Abashiri.

    Transfer and check in hotel in Shiretoko.

  • Day 02 - Shiretoko
    After breakfast, visit the Shiretoko National Park, an UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.  Hike about 3 hours at Shiretoko Goko Lakes, and experience Shiretoko's unspoiled nature.

    Afternoon, return to hotel and relax for the rest of the day.

    Optional: For the more adventurous ones, you can choose for a full day hike.

  • Day 03 - Shiretoko/ Yoroushi

    Drive to Rausu, where you will embark on a 2.5-hour wildlife cruise, tracing for whales. From May to October, many cetaceans will pass Hokkaido and it is the best season to catch a sight of them. Experience the wild beauty of Shiretoko like sperm whales, killer whales, dolphins, and lots of sea birds!

    Transfer to Yoroushi Onsen and relax at the ryokan for the rest of the day. Enjoy a Kaiseki dinner at the hotel. If lucky, you may be able to catch sight the National Treasure bird of Blakiston’s Fish Owl just outside your window.

  • Day 04 - Yoroushi/ Akan
    After breakfast, drive to scenic Lake Mashu, one of the most transparent lakes in the world! Continue to a local farm, where you can have hands-on experience of cow milking and have a taste the fresh milk.

    After lunch, continue to visit Mt Iou, an active volcano also known as the Naked Mountain then proceed to Sunayu Lake Kussharo, a beautiful caldera lake in Akan National park.

    Optional (additional costs may apply):

    If time permits, outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, fishing or kayaking around the lake are available.

    Late afternoon, visit the Ainu Kotan which has great variety of authentic Ainu cuisines and cafes, folk art, jewellery and more.

  • Day 05 - Akan/ Kushiro

    This morning, take a boat and enjoy the beautiful scenery around Lake Akan. See the famous Marimo (Green Moss ball), a natural treasure in Japan.

    In the afternoon, we drive to Kushiro National Park, the largest wetland in Japan. Canoe down the river to Hoso'oka. At Hoso’oka Oberservation Deck, enjoy the great views of the winding Kushiro-gawa River beneath and the Akan Mountain Range in the distance.

    Afterwards, transfer to Kushiro Shitsugen Eki and take the Norokko train to Kushiro city.

    Upon arrival, be met and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, you may wish to try the local food of Robata BBQ (at your own expenses).

  • Day 06 - Kushiro/ Tokachi

    This morning, explore Washo Seafood market. If you’d like, you can try local seafood in some restaurants in the market. Proceed to Tokachi and visit the Ikeda wine castle and you can try local wine in the castle. Stop at Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden for some local desserts.

    Check in to your hotel and try the famous local moor onsen on your own.

  • Day 07 - Tokachi/ Obihiro/ Haneda/ Singapore

    Free at leisure in the morning.

    Late morning, visit the famous Soba town Shintoku and join an interesting cooking class. Get hands-on experience for Soba-making and taste the soba you make.

    Optional: Join a private 3-hour Mountain Stream Fishing (half day) Course!

    Transfer to Obihiro Airport. Connect for your onward flight home.
