  • Day 01 - Singapore / Kansai / Lake Biwa / Nagahama
    Fly Singapore/Kansai SQ 618 0130/0850 (6h 20m) – Daily


    Upon arrival, met and transfer to Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake and one of only about 20 "ancient lakes" in the world. Visit Omihachiman town by the lake shore. Take a ride on the suigo boat to enjoy the scenery of the changing seasons with storehouses and nostalgic townscape overflowing with charm. Take in the historical flavor of the old town were groups of Japan's important traditional buildings are being preserved while on a stroll.

    Continue to Kurokabe Square, erected during the Meiji period (1868-1912) and currently used as a gallery for glassware, glass accessories and music boxes.

    Choose from one of the three activities below:

    1. Pottery making (60-80 mins) - Learn from the expert the skills of pottery making - choose to make 2 pottery wares of your choice.
    2. Glass blowing (30 mins) - Glass blowing is a glass forming technique that involves inflating molten glass into a bubble or parison, with the aid of a blowpipe or blow tube. Have a chance to make your own glassware!
    3. Chopstick making (60 mins) - Make your own wooden pair of chopsticks using cypress grown in Shiga.

    For the adventurous, you may wish to try out ziplining or paragliding.

  • Day 02 - Nagahama / Miyama / Amanohashidate / Kinosaki Onsen

    Start the day early and make our way to Miyama. Experience the traditional, authentic feel of rural Japan in this remote area also known for traditional thatched roof (kayabuki) farmhouses. If you wish, take some time for an active adventure and follow a 1hr walking trail to reach rivers and forests to enjoy some tranquil time with the nature. Experience tree climbing using ropes and trekking in the forest to the waterfall and taste the fresh water. (During the winter, the hiking will be replaced with snow shoeing.) 

    Continue further North to Amanohashidate (1hr), a pine covered sandbar that spans the mouth of Miyazu Bay in the scenic, coastal region of northern Kyoto Prefecture. It is ranked among Japan's three most scenic views.  We reach the last stop of the day (25m) to visit a contender for the title “Venice of Japan” – the fishing village of Ine no Funaya. An off the beaten track destination with quaint traditional “boathouses’ built by the water’s edge, the village will charm you with its sleepy and relaxed atmosphere, and breathtaking views of the bay.

    Check-in to your resort for the night.

    Overnight: Nishimuraya Ryokan (You may wish to extend one more night in Nishimuraya Ryokan to relax and enjoy the onsen.)

  • Day 03 - Kinosaki Onsen / Himeji

    At your own leisure, you may want to explore a little more of Kinosaki Onsen town after breakfast.

    Continue our journey to Himeji. Upon arrival, take a half day tour of Himeji town. Visit the Engyoji Temple, one of the 33 sacred temples of the Kannon pilgrimage route and also one of the filming spot for “The Last Samurai”. Head to Himeji Castle, the must visit in Himeji town. With its iconic, elegant white appearance as well as its impressive size and well preserved castle grounds, it is no wonder that this spectacular castle is a World Heritage Site. End with a stroll in the Koko-en Garden, a beautiful space consisting of nine gardens which has Himeji Castle as its backdrop.

  • Day 04 - Himeji / Kurashiki / Himeji

    Today, take a day trip to Kurashiki, an old merchant settlement full of ancient tradition and culture. Take a city tour including the Bikan historical quarter, with streets lined with white-walled traditional storehouses and merchant homes with distinctive black tiles to model the buildings of Meiji period. Visit the Ohara Art Museum, known for having the first collection of Western Art to be exhibited in Japan with the likes of big names Monet, Gauguin, Renoir and more; as well as the Folk Art Museum.

    After lunch, enjoy a scenic and leisurely cruise along the Kurashiki River. Finally, visit Ohashi House, the former residence of the Ohashi family who were once one of the wealthiest merchants in the village and their well-preserved residence are a reflection of their status in the olden days. Head back to Himeji.

  • Day 05 - Himeji / Singapore

    Have the day at leisure til your departing time and head straight to Kansai airport for your onward flight.
