Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Singapore /Quito
    Fly Singapore/Amsterdam    KL 836   0125/0755 (13hr 30min) – Daily 
      Amsterdam/Quito   KL 755 1000/1440 (11hr 40min) – Daily

     

    Upon arrival, met and drive around 1.5 hours to Otavalo at the Northern Highlands, which sets within a beautiful fertile valley encircled by imposing sacred mountains. Have a good rest after a long flight.

  • Day 02 - Otavalo

    The Otavalo Market, which makes this market town famous, local people use market day much the way their ancestors did during Ecuador’s pre-Colombian history. (Best done in Wed & Sat). Visit the town of Peguche, the handcraft town, for a glimpse of the ancient techniques.

    This afternoon, do a short hike around the beautiful Cuicocha Crater Lake, continue to Cotacachi’s leather craft workshop.

  • Day 03 - Otavalo / Quito

    Drive back to Quito after breakfast. On the way, make a visit to a family-run rose plantation. Enroute to Mitad del Mundo (Middle of the World) and the Intinan Solar Museum, home of the true 0° 0’ 0” equator.

    Walk around Quito’s colonial quarter, the largest and best preserved of South America, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Day 04 - Quito / Cotopaxi

    Today, make a day excursion to the Cotopaxi National Park, along the 'Avenue of the Volcanoes'. Enjoy a short hike or do a horseback riding.

    Drive through the park to Lake Limpiopungo for a spectacular view of Cotopaxi, the highest active volcano in the world (5,897m). Have a short walk around the lake with the elevation of 3,800 meters.

  • Day 05 - Quito / Galapagos
    Transfer for your flight to the main island of Galapagos – San Cristobal Island, where the lodges are located or where you aboard your 4 or 7 nights cruise.

  • Day 06-08/11 - 4 or 7 nights at Galapagos - Cruising or Lodge

    A new day in the Galapagos begins its wildlife symphony. With a Galapagos naturalist at our side, we set out each day in the early morning and afternoon, to remarkable ecosystems where the wildlife is most abundant and active.  The detailed day to day itinerary depends on the cruise/lodge selected.

  • Day 09/12 - Galapagos / Guayaquil
    Bid farewell to the Galapagos Islands and fly to Guayaquil this afternoon. Named as the “Pearl of the Pacific”, Guayaquil is now the largest city and main port of Ecuador. Spend your free leisure time to stroll around this vibrant city.

  • Day 10 / 13 - Guayaquil / Cuenca

    After breakfast, drive to Cuenca. On the way, visit the Cajas National Park, a protected reserve awash with over 200 lakes which date back to the Ice Age. 

    Arrive Cuenca in the afternoon. Its red tiled roofs, flowery plazas and colonial architecture make it one of the prettiest cities in the Americas, as well as an UNESCO world heritage site. Have a walking tour around the historic centre.

  • Day 11/14 - Cuenca - Ingapirca
    Today, make a day excursion to the ruins of Ingapirca, the largest known Inca ruins in Ecuador. The remaining sun temple, built in the style of Coricancha, the main temple of Cuzco standing proudly on a hill at 3,200 meters elevation with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.

  • Day 12/15 - Cuenca / Quito / Singapore

    Today, you have your free time in the city and do some last-minute shopping. Transfer to airport in the evening for your flight back home.

  • 4 Days on Tren Crucero (Quito - Guayaquil: Departs on selected Tuesdays)

    Ride across Ecuador´s Andes with Tren Crucero, watching the transition from moorlands through to cloud forests, to tropical coastal landscapes whilst crossing spectacular terrain and traversing mountains. Steam locomotives from the beginning of the 20th century will run on 2 different stretches.
